Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installation of Architectural Sheet Metal applications including Steel Roofing and Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Insulated Z-girt systems, Composite Aluminum Wall panels, Custom Zinc or Copper applications and Vapor Barriers
- Ability to read and interpret Commercial and Architectural drawings
- Install exterior metal products according to specifications and building codes
- Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations
- Install, repair and service exterior prefabricated products/panels
- Fit and join sheet metal parts using riveting, soldering and similar equipment
- Using and applying caulking and adhesives
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Attend safety development courses: WHMIS, XEMEX HSE Program
- Participate in weekly toolbox and safety meetings - daily attendance and active participation required
- Set up, move or dismantle scaffolding, aerial work platforms and swing stages
- Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas
- Remove rubble and other debris at work site
- Follow direction and get required job done
- Work at heights and variable weather conditions
- Other various duties may be required
Required Training and Experience:
- You have worked with any of the following:
- Composite Panels, Multiple Cladding Systems, Standing Seam Metal Roofs, Insulated Z-girt Systems, Air Vapor Barriers; Use of Brakes & Slitters
- Possession of or able to acquire all safety training and accreditation:
- CSTS, Aerial (AWP) / Elevated (EWP) work platform, Fall Protection, First Aid
Certification in the following is an asset:
- Physically able to lift heavy loads (50lbs continuously) and work a full 8 hour day
- Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools
- Analytical with attention to detail
- Ability to work and communicate with others
- Maintain a healthy, safe and productive work environment
- Driver’s License & reliable transportation to and from site; own tools an asset
